10 steps to a more confident you!
6: Make lists – what makes you happy/sad and start to eliminate the sad
Exactly what is says on the tin. Iron out where you might be being dragged down or not feeling great.
Hate your job? I guarantee that’s affecting your confidence. Get your CV together and make a change.
I was an unhappy corporate professional for several years, I finally took the plunge to change and find something I love doing, and it has really paid off, Monday blues are non existent!!
7: Say yes more often
This closely relates to doing something that scares you every day – say yes to something you wouldn’t normally say yes to and follow it through – don’t take the easy route and cancel through a text message!
Have you heard of Yes Man? Originally a book by Danny Wallace but also now a film with Jim Carrey in – read it or watch it!
8: But, don’t be afraid to say no!
On the flip side, also say no if you don’t want to do something or just simply don’t have time. Don’t overdo it.
The point is, decide what you want to do and say yes or no accordingly, don’t think about what other people want!
9: Keep organised
By being organised, always knowing where your keys are, remembering everything you need to take with you for a day, preparing routes and travel times, knowing when bills are coming out.
I bet you, you will find the “me” time you’ve been looking for, you will be less stressed and more calm – tidiness = calmness.
I live by making lists and reminders on my phone this helps me clearly see what I need to achieve without stressing – crossing things off lists is very therapeutic!
10: Don’t compare yourself to anyone else
You are you, no one else can be you, and you can’t be anyone else. We have a very unfortunate media that paints pictures of what is desirable but, progress is being made, if Barbie can come in different sizes now, so can we!
Embrace who you are, it won’t happen overnight but, you deserve to be happy and confident, don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!
