My Boudoir Shoot – by Cally
I had always wanted to do a boudoir photo-shoot since I saw an article in a slimming magazine. The woman in article had lost a large amount of weight and had the photo-shoot done. When I saw the offer on Facebook that Moving Pictures were doing I thought as I too had lost a lot of weight I would enter and see what happened.
When I received an email from Aby I was both excited and nervous. I kept “umming and ahhing” about contacting them. I felt nervous about calling them. I had looked on their website and liked the pictures I had seen so in the end I did call and spoke to Aby. She couldn’t have been lovelier if she tried. She discussed with me why I wanted to do the shoot, what I wanted to get out of it. She also explained what would happened before and during the photo shoot putting me completely at ease.
After the initial call I was sent an email with a questionnaire to complete, just questions about what type of shoot I wanted, how I wanted to look (hair and make-up), what outfits I wanted to wear etc. I also had to send over some “inspirational images” of the type of shots I wanted at my session. About a week before my shoot, Aby called again to chat through everything. Again I was put at ease and she explained all that would happen at the shoot. She said that she would be with me the whole time and the shoot would go how I wanted it to. By the end of that call I was really looking forward to the shoot and getting very excited.
On the day of the shoot I was feeling very excited and couldn’t wait to get there. When I arrived at the studio I was met by Aby and she introduced me to Keith. Immediately I knew that I was going to enjoy the next couple of hours. They both put me at ease – even though I wasn’t nervous! I was introduced to Bebe, who was the makeup artist and we discussed what sort of look I wanted which was subtle but sexy, so she curled my hair (I normally wear it straight) and applied my make-up. The final look was stunning even if I do say so myself. Aby then took me to the changing room where I got changed.
The studio is lovely and quaint, it is in an old barn. It is also a very relaxing place. The photo shoot began and I have to say that it was one of the best experiences I’ve had, despite the fact that I was in my undies in front of two strangers. Keith and Aby are great together and they really put you at ease; they are a great team. We had a great laugh and I didn’t want the session to end. Aby is on hand the whole time, demonstrating poses, tweaking hair etc.
When I went to view my pictures, I think I was more nervous about that than the photo shoot. My hubby came with me. When Keith started the slide show I was amazed that this person on the screen was me! I was speechless and so was hubby. Keith is a fantastic photographer and had done a great job. The pictures were amazing. The hardest part was whittling them down to the ones that I wanted. Keith explained all of the different packages and products they offer – there was no pressure and we had plenty of time to think about what we wanted to choose. I was so excited when I went to pick the pictures up – they were so much better “in the flesh”.
I wanted to do this shoot for me, and it was one of the best days I have ever had. I would recommend anyone to go and have a shoot done. It boosts your confidence so much. Keith and Aby are two of the friendliest people I have ever met. I love showing my pictures off and when I feel “down and dowdy” as you do I get my pictures out and look at them and think yeah I’m damn sexy! Thank you Keith and Aby for making me feel beautiful and sexy.
